My family’s trip to Hawaii came and went in the blink of an eye. It’s amazing how much time and effort goes into planning a trip, only to feel like the vacation is over before it even started. This trip was particularly special, not only was it our first time visiting Hawaii, but Matt proposed!! I’m still on cloud nine and my mind can’t process the fact that we’re now engaged. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with my best friend (and have fun wedding planning, of course). I’ll be sharing our proposal story on the blog next week (it’s short and sweet), but in the meantime let’s discuss one of my favorite looks from my trip!
Something I learned about Hawaii very quickly is that it’s quite casual. When we were exploring and eating at local spots, everyone’s style was very laid-back. With the exception of the luau we attended, I realized that I really didn’t need to pack 4,531 dresses. For our last dinner on the island, I wanted to wear something a little dressier, but still on the relaxed side.
I opted for this amazing ruffled lace bodysuit I purchased a few weeks ago. The detailing of it is just perfect, and the silhouette is beyond flattering. It doesn’t hurt that it’s my favorite shade of pink. (And it’s currently on clearance for $15). I paired it with a pair of distressed boyfriend jeans to give it that casual look.
I definitely played the look up with accessories, but still kept it pretty simple. This gold layered necklace has become an everyday staple. I love how it can be dressed up or down, and it goes with pretty much everything. Hawaii is sunny to say the least, so hats quickly became my best friend. This one says “Drinks On Me” and I just couldn’t resist it. To finish off the look, I wore blush mirrored sunglasses and my engagement ring that I can’t stop looking at (duh).
I hope you liked this look. I’m excited to start sharing and experimenting with fashion here on Money Can Buy Lipstick. Stay tuned for more details of my Hawaii trip coming soon!
